MMy brother came over the other day asking me for advice about mortgages as having already been through the process he wanted to pick my brains. I told him that I was no expert but to go speak with mortgage advisorswho offer whole of market mortgage advice.
As a first time buyer he is in a great position to buy as he has saved a deposit and not being in a chain he can negotiated hard with the vendor. He has been looking to buy a house for over a year and must have visited every estate agent on our high street. Well finally he has found the property he wants and just need to organise the mortgage.

I gave him the number of a couple of brokers who have arranged mortgages for me in the past and know they will do a good job for him. Well I hope they do as he will blame me if the get it wrong.
So lets hope everything goes well for him as it has been hard for a lot of firt time buyers to get mortgage recently what with the credit crunch and lenders tightening their criteria on who they will an will not lend to.
